Rev. David A. Muench, MDiv, MS, LMFT
Executive Director at GracePoint since 2017 David specializes in Marriage and Family Therapy with a pastoral perspective, although he also has done significant work with individuals struggling with personality disorders and attachment issues. He is available in the Lincoln and Omaha locations. For more than 28 years, David served in parish ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, serving as teacher, DCE, pastor, Christian Counselor and Synod Executive. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis with a Masters of Divinity in 1986, and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Masters of Science in 1995. Prior to his recent retirement he served as the Director of Ministerial Care for Concordia Plan Services in St. Louis, Missouri. |
Venita S. Steinbauer, MS, LMHP, CMFT
Therapist at GracePoint since 2014 Venita specializes in Individual Counseling with a Christian foundational perspective for anxiety and depression support. She has done significant work with individuals dealing with Adjustment issues throughout the entire life span; adolescents to adulthood, job change, work life to retirement, change in relationships, and grief care. She is available in the Lincoln location. After completing her BSEd with a Psychology emphasis at Concordia University-Nebraska, Venita began her counseling career as a Freshman Counselor while attaining her Masters degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 1996. For 20+ years, she has practiced in the area of personality assessment and corporate counseling, supportive mental health care for church workers, and individual therapy with all ages through GracePoint. |
Mary L. Gieseke, MA, LIMHP, LADC
Therapist at GracePoint since 2019 Mary specializes in substance use, mental health and trauma therapy. She has been working in intensive substance use outpatient treatment for the last 8 years and with that work, understands that mental health concerns and trauma often go hand in hand with addiction. She is available at the Lincoln location. Mary graduated from Concordia Teacher's College with a Bachelors of Science in Teaching and taught in the Lutheran School system for 7 years. She remained active in the Lutheran Church as a Worship Director and Women's Ministry Director for another 28 years. In 2012, she graduated from Doane University with a Masters in Counseling. Since then, Mary has received additional training in EMDR, DBT and EFT, which are all treatment approaches for individuals with trauma, anxiety and other mental health concerns. |
Katie Reutzel, M.S., R.D., LMNT
Registered Dietitian, Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist Katie is passionate about seeing the whole person healed and helps facilitate this by addressing the role of nutrition in health, including individuals' relationships with food, behavior modification, treating medical diagnoses with diet, food planning, eating disorder treatment, mindfulness, and body composition assessment. She is available in Omaha and long distance through the use of telehealth software. Currently, Katie serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha; Is completing her Doctorate In Human Sciences with a specialization in Nutrition and Health Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; is working toward a Master's in Counseling from Crown College; and runs her private practice offering Nutrition Counseling services. She became a Registered Dietitian in 2008 and graduated with a Master of Science in 2009 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. |
Kate Pohlmann B.S., Special Education
Administrative Assistant Kate attended Illinois State University and graduated with her teaching degree in Special Education. After teaching for five years, she chose a different path of education. She is a mother, certified group fitness instructor, and business owner as well. Kate and her family attend Christ Lincoln Church in Lincoln and she has enjoyed singing for their Room 211 band since 2014. |
Jennie Smith B.S., Business Administration & Human Resources Management
Administrative Assistant Jennie is a graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She joined the GracePoint staff with experience in church administration and business management, having recently served as Ministry Administrator for a congregation in Northern Virginia. Prior to that, she and her family had served for 15 years in Russia and Germany with the LCMS Office of International Mission, which included work for her at the American Embassy in Moscow, Russia. Jennie has also served with Stephen Ministries, and Union Bank and Trust. Jennie and her husband, The Rev. Dr. Brent Smith, have three children. Jennie is based in Omaha. |
Kat Hannemann B.S., Psychology
Administrative Assistant Kat has served in various administrative roles since GracePoint opened in 2012 and as a professional photographer, is credited with the images found on GracePoint's website. She currently assists with a portion of the office billing and website management. Kat is wife to Rev. Dr. Justin Hannemann and together, they have four children; she is based in Seward. |
